INTERNATIONAL STUDENT A/V PROJECT EXHIBITION
SUBJECT & AIM
We are challenging you to develop ideas and strategies that support regenerative and productive urban landscapes to support healthy living.
USE ISTANBUL AS A LIVING LAB for DESIGN INVESTIGATIONS and SOURCE of IDEAS
Investigating the depths of our urban memory, discovering the local potentials and considering the future needs of our ever-increasing population/ever-sprawling metropolitan areas and creating visionary ideas that can be applied to the present and future urban contexts will be evaluated. Special emphasis is on using and utilising the four elements (earth-water-air-fire) of nature/science of places: -to revitalise wasted, neglected or lost urban open spaces -to create productive urban landscapes -to provide human-nature continuum within the city center -to support urban ecological systems with energy, food, social networks -to support public education, economy and health SITES for design investigations and source of ideas can be selected among the nieghborhoods along Bosphorus, Golden Horn or within the Historical Peninsula WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Undergraduate and graduate students can participate individually or within a project team. Project teams can be formed including both graduate and undergraduate students from different departments and graduate programs at the ITU Faculty of Architecture. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FIRST PHASE -diagrams&interactive maps for explaining design strategy for the selected site(s) and its surrounding environment -choice and use of scale, visual materials (including videos), colors, texts and modeling (rendering), animation is free for the presentation technique. All materials should be minimum 200dpi in TIFF format. All submissions will be online accompanied by printed poster(s)* ONLINE SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 02.MARCH.2013 *max. two A0 size will be submitted in printed format.
